Touchscreen drivers do not seem to work
- Uninstall ALL touchscreen drivers on your system, if there are any.
- UNPLUG the USB cable to the monitor before performing the install.
- Reboot your system.
- It is a good idea to unplug ALL of your USB devices when installing.
- Install touchscreen drivers in our files/drivers page.
- Plug in the USB cable when indicated or after installation.
- Make sure the touchscreen USB is plugged into the correct USB port.
- Reboot your system.
How do I calibrate my touchscreen?
- Run the touchkit utility.
- Press the blinking X for a few seconds until the blinking stops.
- The X will move around to different corners of the screen.
- Repeat by pressing the X until the calibration ends.
Nothing is displayed
Check the following:
- The monitor is powered with at least 12V and 1.5A
- Pins are in power and VGA cables are straight and not broken
If you can see on screen display (OSD), then your monitor is powered correctly.
If you still cannot see regular display, check the following:
- Set the monitor to the correct mode by pressing the MODE or AV button
- Set your computer to a lower resolution that the monitor can handle such as 800x600
Display still does not come out (VM70)
After pressing the on button, it takes about 5 seconds for the VM70 display to appear.
Windows 9X causing page fault blue screen when touching the touch panel during system booting up for PS/2 model
Avoid touching the touch panel when booting up the system.

Touchkit driver for DOS cannot be installed if autoexec.bat file does not exist in the system
Create an empty autoexec.bat for installation.
Touchkit driver for Win9X RS232 model might be disabled after system reboot if the Logitech mouseware installed
- modify the registry for Logitech mouseware so that it will not scan the COM port where the touchkit RS232 controller attached
- run regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Logitech\MouseWare\CurrentVersion\Global
- right click on PortSearchOrder and choose the amend command
- remove the COM port which TouchKit uses
- save the registry
Touchkit USB controller with firmware version 2.08 causes system BIOS to hang when the system boots up
Disconnect the touchkit USB controller. Change the BIOS setting that [USB Legacy Device] to disabled and then reboot.
Touchkit driver for DOS hangs the system when a serial mouse is connected to the COM port
Remove the serial mouse or change the Touchkit port I/O address to avoid conflict same I/O address with the serial mouse.
What is the blue wire for? (Not available in all models)
The blue wire allows for automatic switching of your monitor to AV2 mode. It will automatically switch to it when connected to a 12V power source.
This is useful if you have a rear view camera connected to your car. The monitor will still function fine if the blue wire is not used.
There is no sound coming out of the monitor
- Spearkers work only in AV mode
- Make sure audio input is plugged in
- Make sure the volume is not on mute or low:
- Press the menu button to bring up the On Screen Display (OSD)
- Navigate to the speaker icon using the + and - buttons
- Press the menu button once again
- Press the + and - buttons to adjust the volume level. Make sure it is not in mute (indicated by a bar accross the speaker)
- Press the menu button to accept the current setting
- Navigate to the exit icon
- Press menu to exit
Cannot hibernate or shutdown from Windows with the touchscreen connected
- Go to Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager
- Click on Mice and other pointing devices->USB Touchscreen Controller
- Click on the Power Management Tab
- UNCHECK "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby"
- Click on OK
How do I set the resolution to 800x480?
Unless your graphics adapter supports it, 800x480 is usually not available. As an alternative, you can try to download PowerStrip to get an 800x480 resolution.
The VMI70 monitor will not eject
Make sure the RED and YELLOW are connected to 12V and the BLACK AND BLUE wires are connected to GROUND.
Is this monitor really widescreen?
The
VM70 and
VM92 monitors have widescreen (16:9 ratio) dimensions.
Both feature native WVGA 800x480 resolutions.
Unfortunately, most videocards use a graphic chipset
that doesn't support 800x480.
You can use a program called Powerstrip available from
http://www.entechtaiwan.com.
