Will the PW-200 work with a Pentium 4 or Athlon system?
Yes. You will need the P4-ATX cable soldered to your PW-200-M.
Some motherboards are fussy, but a vast majority will work.
Can the PW-200 take 12V input from a vehicle (car, boat, truck)?
Car batteries result in volatile and unpredictable voltage. We do not recommend using them with the PW-200 series as it will void your warranty.
If you need a PSU for your vehicle, we recommend the following: M2-ATX / M2-ATX-HV / M3-ATX / M4-ATX Can you suggest a power brick/adapter that can support the full output of 200 watts?
While this DC-DC can support 200 watts, it is almost impossible to drive this kind of power AT ONCE on all rails with a regular PC. Each rail has its maximum capacity, but you cannot use all rails at the same time at full power.
For example, a Pentium 4 will consume around 100-120 watts total, but you never know which power rail will be peaked.
What kind of adapters are compatible?
A 60 Watt 12V, 5A adapter will work with any mini-ITX board with up to 2 HDDs.
More powerful adapters are available (from 5A to 12.5A from our store)
Does the PW-200 come with an ATX output plug?
Yes. You can plug the board directly into the motherboard or you can use an ATX extender cable, available in our store.
How do I solder the P4-ATX cable to a PW-200 Series PSU?
How to Solder the P4-ATX cable to your PW-200 Series PSU Some motherboards, such as ones with an Intel Pentium 4 processor, require additional power. This is provided through its ATX12V port, which has 4 pins (2x2). With a P4-ATX cable, you can provide this additional power with your PW-200 series PSU. You can solder the P4-ATX cable to your PW-200 series PSU yourself by following the instructions below. Make sure you're comfortable with soldering and that you have a voltmeter.
Here is the final image: My motherboard has a 24-pin ATX connector. Will a 20-pin ATX power supply (such as the picoPSU series, PW-200 series and M2-ATX) work with it?
In most cases, it will work without any problems.
If you need more power, you can get the
20-pin to 24-pin adapter
or our 24-pin ATX power supplies
(M4-ATX and the
picoPSU-150-XT).
